End of summer....

We have had an amazing summer! We didn't go anywhere big, since I was in grad school all summer, but we did alot of fun things. We had play dates, we spent alot of time at the pool, Mak spent her first week away from Mommy visting cousins and staying at Mimi's and Papaw's, Daddy graduated from college, Mommy turned 30, Aunt Leah visited for a long weekend, we went to the circus, and we had three of my nieces stay the week with us. I was VERY tired by the end, but it was a lot of fun for everyone.

Here are a few of my favorite pics from the summer:

David graduated!!!

David graduated today with his bachelors degree! Finally! I feel like he has been in school forever! Now we are down to one person in school, but probably just for a few months because David is anxious to start his masters next.

Makayla is very proud of her daddy! And, she was so good during the ceremony. We were about five minutes away from American Airlines Center and she was crashed out in the car though.

Ok, I am horrible at this blogging thing...

but here are some new pictures of Makayla!! I just love this first picture--its really close up, but look at those eyes! She was coming towards me at tumbling when I caught the picture.

This is one of our dogs, Hannah. She was sick last Friday and Mak was so sweet about it.

Quite the little diva, Makayla loves the camera!

July 4th at the FC Dallas game.

Ice cream with Karissa. I don't know which she loves the most, since all she does is talk about Karissa ALL the time.

I have been busy with grad school this summer. Mak spent a few days with my parents in June and we have been swimming and playing just about everyday.
Mak moved into a big girl bed and loves her new independence! So much in fact, it was quite the little battle for a few days and I wake up now to her taping me asking for milk or water instead of crying for me in her crib.
And we have been potty training and we almost have it down! She has been doing so well in fact we left the house today without a diaper on and we finished all our shopping without an accident. That is HUGE in the potty training world.
That is just a little update from our world...I guess this will just be a forum for a few of my favorite pics every month. At least it will be while I am in intense grad school classes like I am right now!

ok..so it has been a LONG TIME!!

Here are some pictures of her from this weekend--I just can't believe how grown up she is these days. Of course, you would have to hear her talk to know just how grown up she is.

This have been pretty upside down around here. With finishing my first grad class and the end of school, I am doing good to not lose all my hair. But we are hanging in there--six more days of school!!! And my next two grad classes start on Monday--but it will be a fun summer with many fun things around town for Makayla and I to do together while David is at work.

The hula outfit is something that Leah picked up in Hawaii when Makayla was a baby and it is just now fitting here. She is the dressup queen and wants to wear it all the time!

Stella is her best friend! Hannah, on the other hand, runs from Makayla when she approaches her.

She is certainly a product of my picture taking. The camera just has to be in my hand for her to start smiling and saying cheese. She is quite the ham! I can't wait to see her in the intro to tumbling class she is taking at the rec. center this summer.

I jumped on the bandwagon

I jumped on the blog bandwagon--I think this will be a convenient way to share photos, stories, and scrapbook pages about our family.

As of right now, we are just crazy busy...trying to take things one day at a time so we don't get overwhelmed. I am in grad school working on my master's in library science, David just finished his bachelor's of business management and he volunteer coaches two soccer teams, my neice Delaney's and my nephew Addison's teams. Makayla just turned two! I can't believe she is officially a toddler already! We have so much fun and I can't wait to see what else this year holds for us.

The picture at the top is of Makayla yesterday before we left for church. She certainly is the love of our lives. Her smile is contagious and you just want to hug her constantly (and try not to laugh when she does the wrong thing and I am supposed to be the adult).
